Fredericksburg Area HIV/AIDS Support Services offers HIV testing that is free, fast, oral and confidential Monday through Thursday from 9-3 and Wednesdays until 8pm. FAHASS also offers weekly support groups for HIV positive people providing educational and emotional support. FAHASS is located in Fredericksburg on 415 Elm St., or at other locations by appointment. "Connections" Program
Sponsored by Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services and the Alzheimer's Association, "CONNECTIONS" is a free, 8-week, in-home program for family caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's disease, or other age-related dementia. It is designed to help the family answer the question, "What can we do at home all day?" The program teaches care-giving families how to facilitate interesting, meaningful activities for their family member with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. Available to families in Madison, Orange, Culpeper, Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties. A person may participate no matter what the level of dementia - no formal diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease or other dementia is required.
